Few days ago I was in a bookstore and I saw few coloring books with mandalas and patterns - books for adults, not for kids. Turns out, there is a big boom of these here in Bulgaria.
Coloring simple shapes is proven to be very soothing and relaxing for the mind. Drawing and coloring of mandalas is a effective therapy and healing method for anyone with any forms of anxiety - there is no wrong way to do them - you start with a small dot and you go from there. The end result is always different, and always "right". In today's world, full of stress and noise, there is no wonder that we turn to the oldest tricks - simple, calming, repetitive moves, that doesn't require any special skills.

Now, the point of my mandala, besides from making me calm and happy, was to train me to draw in circles. I will need more practice, for sure, and the making of the lower part was a bit stressful (ha ha), but for a first attempt it's kinda OK.

The other important task is to start making the illustrations more smooth and clean - at some point my goal is to start uploading them in stock-sites. In order to do so I have to learn to make them "client-friendly" - small in size, clean vectors.
