Again

Well, it's been a while.
After four months, today I finally pressed File -> New, for a new illustration.

Overall it's been an interesting summer so far, with yachts and swimming, mountains and trips. I survived two surgeries, learned the hard way that I am much stronger than I thought, and accepted my new life as it is - different, sometimes awkward, but most importantly - all mine. Today the rain is pouring outside, the cat is sleeping right next to me, and all I can say is - I am in a weird way happy.

Few months back I got one very interesting book - "Signs and symbols". Yesterday I opened it for some inspiration, as it was clear that I have to start drawing again. The symbol that got me in the first minute was the Scarabaeus - sacred in the ancient Egypt world, and seen as "a symbol of the light-to-dark cycle and of rebirth or regeneration." Well, kinda appropriate, eh. Next step was the heavy book named "Egypt", that I carry around with me from place to place, to see some colors and shapes and then - the tablet wiped out of dust, coffee in the cup and Illustrator finally open.

And here it is, my scarabaeus.
