The Art Factory

Yesterday I saw the Fusion Art Fest - in one of the most interesting places right now - the Art Factory in Sofia. The "Factory" itself was created over a year ago, from a real ex-factory, with the support of Sofia's mayor. It was meant to be low-cost space for artists - giving them the option to create, to collaborate with each other and to sell their crafts.

The artists then began to argue with each other over the space and the rules, and now, a year later, the result is a mixed-up place, with different events at different floors. Oh well...

The event this weekend was a 3 days festival with paintings, sculptures, paper art, ceramics and installations. And it was quite nice. And I even had the chance to see the Destructive Creation's workshop :)

Unfortunately, the factory itself is in really bad shape - old windows, not working elevators, messy stairs. I hope they can renovate it - Sofia really needs spaces like this.
